Abdulai Barrie is a Sierra Leonean entrepreneur who was born and raised in Sierra Leone. He comes from a humble family and belongs to the Fula tribe. Abdulai Barrie attended Holy Trinity Primary School from 1999 to 2004, where he successfully completed the National Primary School Certificate Examination.

After completing his primary education, Abdulai Barrie continued his academic journey at Albert Academy Secondary School from 2004 to 2011. He successfully completed the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination during this time.

In August 2021, Abdulai Barrie completed a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Financial Management at the Institute of Public Administrations and Management, which is affiliated with the University of Sierra Leone. This certificate program was made possible with the support of UNDP Sierra Leone. Additionally, he participated in a 3-month Youth & Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Capacity Building Programme at Limkokwing University of Sierra Leone, which was supported by the United Nations Development Program.

Abdulai Barrie is known for his entrepreneurial spirit and his eagerness to explore new opportunities and challenges. He thrives on taking risks and pushing boundaries, never afraid to fail. One of his notable achievements is the founding of Salone Agro Market, a one-stop-shop for all agricultural needs in Sierra Leone. Salone Agro Market connects farmers, buyers, and suppliers, providing easy access to high-quality, locally-sourced produce and agricultural products. This platform has been recognized as a leading innovation in the agriculture sector, and Abdulai Barrie has received several awards for his work, including recognition from UNDP Sierra Leone Accelerators Labs, Freetown Pitch Night winner, a top 60 best solution at the Africa 50 innovation, finalist at the Social Good Summit competition, and third place at the 2020/2021 Seedstars Freetown competition.

In addition to Salone Agro Market, Abdulai Barrie is the co-founder and Director of Creative Media Network (CMN), a multimedia company dedicated to providing a platform for young people to share and tell their stories through various forms of art, entertainment, and media. He is also the founder and CEO of Eco-Clean Energy, which offers a clean self-charging battery-powered generator with a prepaid meter. This innovative and sustainable solution provides a reliable and cost-effective method for residential energy needs while reducing environmental impact and promoting climate sustainability.

Furthermore, Abdulai Barrie is the founder and CEO of SOLPreserve, a solar-powered container cold-room. This solution addresses the problem of post-harvest losses in fruits, vegetables, and other perishable foods by harnessing solar energy and operating independently of the electricity grid, providing 24/7 off-grid storage and preservation.

Abdulai Barrie is also the founder and coordinator of Sierrapreneurs Elite Business Network, a mentorship, capacity development, and business-to-business platform that supports aspiring entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone.

Throughout his career, Abdulai Barrie has gained valuable experience in the media industry. He founded and currently serves as the Founder & CEO of Salgro Limited, a media company established in 2019. From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a Producer and Director at WEOWN TV Freetown Media Center. In 2018, Abdulai Barrie founded Creative Media Network SL, where he holds the position of Founder and Creative Director. He also worked as a Consulting Director at Sierra Network Production in 2020 and served as a Consulting Writer for a Radio Soap Opera called “Bongo man and Cici” as part of the Tumara project supported by OSIWA in 2021.
